The area around our apartment in Portimao is filled with lots of things to see and do. From taking it easy on the beach, to playing around on the golf course!

Coast / Beach: We're only one minute's walk to one of the best (and largest!) beaches in Portugal. With fantastic fine sand and large picturesque rocks and caves to enjoy. The sea is lovely and warm, and as it's so gentle it's very safe for children. On the beach there are various restaurants and cafes available, and along the promenade there are shops, restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours, nightclubs, and casinos.

Golf: Portimao is a golfers paradise! There are three golf courses extremely close by.
The first is Alto Golfe (tel.282 460 870) and is only 5 minutes away. This course was the last to be designed by Sir Henry Cotton who was a triple winner of the British Open. The course has the Monchique mountains as a fantastic back drop and runs through two valleys and offers winding fairways and gently undulating greens.
The second is Penina (tel. 282 420 200). This was the first golf course to be built in the Algarve in 1966 by Sir Henry Cotton. This club offers outstanding views with a calm and tranquil setting that shows nature at it's best.
The third is Quinta de Morgado (tel. 282 402 150). This course is the newest course in the area. Set in small undulating valleys the course offers very large greens to test anyone's putting abilities! It is laid out on a 980 hectare estate, and at 6399 meters (PAR 73) it is one of the longest in the region.
